Album Design: Louis Prima – The Wildest

For this project, we were assigned the task of re-creating an album. I think it’s important to tread lightly when you’re recreating something that’s potentially iconic. I love The Velvet Underground’s Loaded album but I would be very weary of even thinking about trying to redesign it. With that being said, I came up with the idea of recreating Louis Prima’s “The Wildest.”

I decided to use a color palette similar to that of Nickelodeon in the hopes that it would catch the eyes of millenials The idea was to take a really old album that I enjoyed and bring it to a new generation that may have never heard of Louis Prima.

Since I couldn’t find clean mockups, I ended up using records from my own collection and some Photoshop to finish the project.
